Today is just another day. Nothing special, nothing new.
Yesterday is another story. Let's start off with my random morning: Beginning with a pleasant phone call from my mother.
Me: Hello?
Mom: Girl, are you ok!?
Me: Ummmmm... yes....
Mom: You must not be watching the news. There was a dead body found in your apartment complex this morning.
Me: What!?
Mom: A young lady around your age. Child, you better be careful. I'm so happy you picked up your phone...
Me: What was the name of the apartment complex?
Mom: The ones you live in! Windsor Court on Castle Blvd. Girl, I am so happy you picked up the phone...
Me: I live in the Towers, but thats really close...
Mom: It's doesn't matter! It's in the same complex.
Me:I know. That's crazy...
Soon, the the conversation went into to WOMP WOMP WOMPS, but when I FINALLY got off the phone with her, things felt a little eerie. First off, Everett wasn't home (he was stuck at UPS helping to clean up a random mercury spill. Don't ask.), so I felt a bit defensive. I had to remember that I was still in the process of getting ready for work, so I quickly finished and rushed out the door. When I got outside from the front lobby, I was relieved to see no cop cars in front of our building, but as I walked up towards the court apartments, things started to become real. There were about 4-5 cop cars huddled around one of the court apartments and a FOX 5 news truck was parked a few feet away. Shit began getting creepy even though the sun was out. And it annoyed me because I HAD to walk pass this mess to get to my bus stop.
When I finally got to work, I looked on the FOX 5 news website and read the developing story:
911 Call Leads Police to Mysterious Murder Victim. It's a real fucked up story.
It really pissed me off. It pissed me off because she had to be in my age group of 18-25. There are so many young girls in my neighborhood and we are all at risk. I was so scared for my life yesterday. From now on, instead of walking around MY OWN neighborhood in the evening to do simple shopping, or even walk from the bus stop to get home in the evening, I will have Everett drive me around Castle Blvd, until we move next October. I refuse to stay another year.
I know what you are thinking, "It was only one incident jeez!" I don't care. Ever since we moved here in October, the neighbors have been driving us up the wall. The couple that lives next to us fight so much, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them mysteriously disappeared for "unknown" reasons. Also, one day while I was at work, some loony bitch forgot about her food cooking in her oven and she almost burned the tower down! Everett called and told me that the whole building had to evacuate (even though there was no damage done).
They better get shit straight, thats all I'm saying.
Anyway, other than that BS, my work day went by smoothly. Came home, made dinner, and played GTA online with Everett and his best friend Dantley. :)
